Part 8 - Norwegian research

 I should mention here that Adolf's wife's name differs in various records. So far she is recorded as Jensine Fredrikke Charlotte Jensen, Charlotte Jensen, Charlotte Holm and Charlotte Bakke.

Where the 'Holm' comes into it, I don't know, either an error, or most likely will be her father's name, even though he was recorded as 'Lauritz Jensen' in her marriage record.

 Although it is more likely in the late 1800s, never expect a Norwegian (or worse Danish!) name to be the same from one record to another. Their names will always be 'within the rules', but the rules are extensive! And spelling is all in the hand of the scribe. I've never found naming to be a problem, in fact it is often very helpful - there are a lot of clues in names.

2023 and it is time for new discoveries

 As we launch into another year of research and discovery, it never fails to amaze me how wrong my deductions and conclusions can be after 50 years of seeking out family history. That may seem alarming, but the truth is that we have so many new tools to discover and review our history.  We have DNA evidence for the first time which can help define the path of our research and help us to understand so many characteristics and traits that we might never have thought of through our family stories alone.  It can help us with medical and health issues that might be found in our various family lines - information that can be very useful when combined with new discoveries in medicine and building awareness in our families of issues of concern.
