Conserving precious family records

One of the most frequent questions we are asked is how to preserve precious family mementoes and fragile items. We are not experts in this field, so all we can do is direct you to some websites which have useful information. Unlock the Past Brisbane Seminar Tuesday 29 March 2011

Just received notice of a new seminar in Brisbane courtesy of Unlock the Past -  some interesting presenters... and there is a lot of recent news on military history and photos found in France... so for all those interested, make sure you book on the Unlock the Past website...  A late decision has been made to hold a FREE seminar in Brisbane on Tuesday afternoon 29 March at Kedron-Wavell Services Club, 375 Hamilton Rd, Chermside.   This is to take advantage of several interstate historians/presenters in Brisbane at the time. There will be a partial focus on military history with talks on: Australia at War  by military historian and battlefield tour operator  Mat McLachlan Researching Military Ancestors in Australia  by Shauna Hicks Added to this will be two talks of wide general interest to family historians: FamilySearch, including tips on using the New Family Search  - Paul Parton (from Sydney).
